The town of Gluszyca is situated on the route from Wałbrzych to Kłodzko via Nowa Ruda, in the vast and picturesque mountain valley over the Bystrzyca river, surrounded by the Wałbrzyskie and the Suche Mountains, as well as the oldest range in the Sudety - the Sowie Mountains.
Głuszyca is situated at an altitude of 420-490 metres above sea level. It is a starting point of plentiful tourist trails worth exploring, alongside which numerous minerals and rocks can be found - jaspers, amethysts, garnets, tourmalines - as well come across rare animal species - the mufflon, the white and grey stork, the little owl, the hawk...

The amateurs of hiking will find abundance of peaks to be climbed, from which breathtaking panoramas of the town and its environs can be admired. Those interested in active forms of recreation will enjoy cycle trips on the picturesquely laid trails. A few years ago, a new border crossing with the Czech Republic for cyclists and pedestrians was opened in Głuszyca Górna-Janovicki.

In the summer, there is an outdoor swimming pool to be enjoyed in the town. I Łomnica, there are two ski-lifts.

  • Underground Tourist Route in the Osówka Complex - 1700m of underground passages and halls, open to the public,
  • Over-ground constructions, World War Two reinforcements, Casino, Power Station - Osówka Complex,
  • Rogowiec Castle ruins from the 16th C.,
  • Wooden Church of Our Lady from mid 16th century in Grzmiąca,
  • Former Evangelic Church from 1741, at present - a Catholic Parish Church of Our Lady Queen of Poland at Grunwaldzka Street,
  • 19th century mansion with a round corner tower and column-supported portico,
  • Late-Baroque palace from the end of the 18th century,
  • Church of Mother Mary the Snowy from 1564 in Sierpnica,
  • Cemetery in Kolce, with graves of World War Two POWs and prisoners from the Gross-Rosen concentration camps.
